Dr Becky Bacon
BVSc MRCVS
Associate Veterinarian

Becky joined the team in September 2025 for a 6 month contract with Illawarra Equine Centre.
She grew up in Oxford, UK, where her passion for horses was inspired by her parents’ love of animals. She graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Liverpool in 2022. During her studies, she gained experience through a variety of equine externships across the UK, including time in Newmarket.

After qualifying, Becky remained at the University of Liverpool’s Philip Leverhulme Equine Hospital, providing temporary intern cover, before moving to B&W Equine Hospital in Gloucestershire to complete an 18-month rotating internship. There, she worked closely with specialists in surgery, medicine, imaging, and anaesthesia. Following this, she relocated to Australia to undertake a demanding 12-month fellowship in surgery and anaesthesia at Scone Equine Hospital, gaining a huge variety of experience during the busy breeding season.
Becky has particular interests in surgery, lameness, and anaesthesia.
Outside of work, she enjoys horse riding, polo, catching up with friends, and walking her little Jack Russell cross, Lola.
